Taking an Arizona Jeep Tour
"Beesee, I'm a hiker, and I've been to every national park there is - and I've been to more Arizona national parks than you can imagine!" - said John King, as he looked out over the spectacular scenery of the Grand Canyon on an Arizona Jeep tour. Yes! An open top lavender Jeep tour to visit the Bisbee scenic sights. But just as you will learn at their awesome tour, Lavender is not just about the color, it's about the people too.
All their Arizona Jeep tour selections leave from the Copper Queen Hotel in Old Town Bisbee, where they have a very cozy office in the lobby. John and his partner Pam have spent much of their adult life in and around the Grand Canyon. On this particular tour, the couple will drive their old Jeep through a tunnel in the Lower 48. Then they'll take a ride over a suspension bridge over one of the massive sandstone drops that make Grand Canyon National Park such a spectacular site. After that, you'll head back into town for lunch. John and Pam will then head back to their Bisbee hotel for lunch and another excellent view of the Southern Arizona's magnificent skies and mountains.
In their journey across the incredible Arizona landscape, they will pass through beautiful scenery, plenty of wildlife encounters, and lots of off-road driving. It all seems pretty hard to top. Luckily, they always find a way. For example, on their western route they stop at a roadside motel that serves coffee. The manager tells them about a wonderful trail they just passed along the mountainside, with only a very short hike over some red rocks back to their car.
So they get back in their car and head out to the trailhead. At the beginning, they encounter two ATV riders that seem to be having the time of their lives. They stop to have a conversation and ask the bikers if they know of any good camping spots that are off the beaten path. The guys tell them about a great camping spot that is probably in their general direction. John and Pam are delighted when they learn it is on the reservation of the Grand Canyon Trust. John and Pam head back to their car to enjoy breakfast and a nice cup of coffee.
It was a beautiful day for the Arizona Jeep Tour. As the foursome made their way through the red rocks of the canyon, they met up with some other tourists as well. A very informative and entertaining chap told them a lot about the trails, which he had just witnessed firsthand. He also offered some suggestions on what to bring and what not to bring on the tour choices available.
We knew that taking an Arizona Jeep Tour on a weekend got us into the red rocks, so we asked our trip advisor raters if they had some suggestions for us. Within a few minutes, they had a list of all the trails we could choose from, with their recommended minimum age. With our group of four, we ended up going on the Sky Ranch Trail, the Black Canyon Trail, and the Grand Canyon West Rim Trail. On our return trip, we were happy to discover that the minimum age for traveling on all these tours was sixty-five.
If you are planning an Arizona Jeep tour and would like to add a little adventure to your trip, you can do so by adding the optional Grand Canyon Jeep tours that will take you around the famous Las Vegas Strip. You can even take an Arizona Jeep tour of the Hoover Dam. This is an excellent way to really get to know the area and appreciate the spectacular beauty that surrounds you. The tours vary depending on what you want to see and you can be taken on a tour of just about any area in the state.
Our travel advisor was thrilled that we chose to go on an Arizona Jeep tour of the Grand Canyon. He said that the trip was a blast and we had so much fun, we wanted to go back. Not only did we enjoy the canyon, but we got to view a lot more of the states beautiful mountains and landscape as well as pick-up a bottle of good bottled water along the way. Don't forget your camera! You never know what will happen while on your journey, so bring plenty of memory cards and pictures to take home from your amazing Arizona jeeps adventure!
