Popular Styles of Stackable Rings

Although hard to believe that the first person to wear stackable rings on just one hand was a native American, this concept was not around long before I was born. But unlike the wearing of multiple charms and talismans that date back from ancient days, the first wearing of gold and diamond stackable rings with only a couple of exceptions in the early 18th and 19th century is relatively recent in a historical sense.

So when I got a call recently from my good friend Amy, she asked me what I'd recommend her to buy to refresh her look; I told her that I was thinking that stackable rings maybe what she was looking for, but we would have to explore.

Amy loves to shop for different things. This time she was looking for something more romantic. But overall, felt that she wanted to get some small and elegant pieces that would match different outfits.

So we both thought - Stackable! Yes!

But neither Amy nor I knew what stackable is and how to tame the trend.

We both thought it would be a simple combination of rings first. But as usual, there's no better feeling than teaching yourself something new.

We both quickly discovered that when it comes to stackable rings, there are endless possibilities to learn. Our favorite element of surprise? Pairing classic styles to find the exact look and feel we're looking for.

Or we discovered that just wearing a stack of the same rings altogether created a bolder classic look. Turned out, the more rings we would stack, the merrier it was.

So she started by exploring all the different styles and shapes of gold and stackable rings. Since Amy is from Australia, I asked her what her choices are.

The first choice she made was a simple thumb ring. She loves fingerless gloves, so she picked fingerless gold stackable rings set with pink stones, one with the word LOVE etched in gold on it and another with two pretty hearts. She also picked a studded set with small diamonds and one with a heart and another with the word LOVE etched in it.

We both thought her choices so far were a great way to wear stackable rings while still being versatile and feminine.

Another choice she made was one ring with the words, L'Amour et Chocolat, etched in gold on it. It matched perfectly with the elegance and romanticism in her personality.

We both thought immediately that this is one ring that will never go out of style since it is classic and romantic.

Another great choice is one small gold-plated ring with a beautiful design on it. This jewelry piece looked like it can go with almost any outfit. Amy said she loved it because she does not have to match jewelry to what she wears from now on.

It all goes well together!

As we were going through different styles and stores, we found out that layering was no longer restricted to clothes alone.

Loading multiple fingers with numerous rings was a chic way to attain a maximum layering effect.

A light touch of mismatch in rings Amy would put on a trendy and clean look was achieved by a light touch of mismatch in rings.

Thin and dainty rings were going nicely with thick, ornate styles. These were producing some edgy and delicate looks at the same time.

But I told Amy to maybe not to overdo it and keep just one ring on a finger. At least from time to time.

I liked the look of a small ring on one finger, nothing else on another finger, and then a stack of dainty styles on the next finger.

Next thing we discover how amazingly well worked a carefully selected mix of different metals: gold, rose gold, and white gold or silver.

Once we passed these experiments, we concentrated on the textures. And then on buying a few rings from a single brand. Buying a few at a time will help the mix work better.

By the way, wearing just one thumb ring works excellent as well.

We would try different types and styles. We would change it up, mix and match until we would find a combo that we both loved.
